This is the season for the influx of younger drivers and driver turnover. People like Kahne and Kenseth are declining and the new blood is emerging. We are going to see more drivers retiring like Carl and Jr.

@Retroram52, another strong run from Bubba in the #43. Shame last night may be his last run.

I here ya' jeffro151. If RPM were smart and they had the sponsorship, they shuld move Almirola to the 44 car, restart that team and keep Wallace Jr in the 43.

Strong rumor that RCR will be the Dodge flagship team when they come back.

Could be jeffro151. I hope Dodge does return and the return includes the icon of Dodge dominance in the past, Richard Petty Motorsports.

He past pre qualifying inspection and then failed post qualifying with the same deck lid

Ever since he bashed NASCAR about merchandise sales, he can't seem to pass a inspection..

Just sat down and the race is on. Looks like the stands are about half full or half empty how ever you want to look at it. Anyhow NASCAR might want to take note and make some changes..

Serious question. Other than going back to no stage racing, what other changes could they make? The charter system isn't really hindering teams, IMO. The field fillers were already having trouble with securing sponsors before 2016, and very rarely is anyone getting sent home for not qualifying because they don't even have 40 cars.

I don't think they can fix it at this point. I think they are past the point of no return.

That's what I am thinking. We are either going to have to love what we have, or walk away. I love racing too much to just walk away.

Well I don't make the big bucks like Brian France and Mike Helton do. But my two cents, get rid of the playoffs BS I hate them. Win one race and coast the rest of the year until the playoffs is BS. Go back to old points with a twist. A bigger spread for winning the race like maybe

1st. 150 pts
2nd. 135 pts
3rd -- 10th decreases by 5 pts per
11--20. By 3 points
21--30 by 2 points
31--43 by 1 point

IMO this would promote racing for the win every week not just the win and you are in BS
Also run it at night. Qualify run a heat race, maybe 4 @10-15 lap heats and a 200-300 mile main all in the same night, more action in less time, this would save teams money also.

Or maybe start fast qualifier in the back and give passing points???

And I don't know how but they have GOT to get rid of the pay and play jackasses..and maybe the give irrevelevant driver like Danica and Regan, and, and, and, three years to finish top 20 in points or GTFO. There are more Kyle Larson drivers out there that can't afford to pay and play.. Larson would not have made it to NASCAR if it wasn't for drive for diversity program. And that when Chip took a chance. All other teams wanted him to pay to play.

Maybe put a cap on what a team can spend???

TV deals have killed the attendance at the tracks, lower prices and maybe running at night when it is cooler would help.

Again this is just my 2 cents but I'm at the point I can go watch better talent at my local track.

If they want a playoff system, mine would be you have the top 10 drivers in the standings (no matter how many wins you have) and then add a driver from 11-15 with the most wins. Then eliminate one after each race so you have two guys driving for the title in the Homestead finale. Just keep things simple so everyone can understand.
I'd want to shorten the season by six races to 30 races.
And also, whatever series the drivers are racing in points for, they can't race in another series (barring an injury).

I enjoy the local short track racing down the road from me and indulge about 2-3 times a year. There's a couple of dirt tracks closeby that I've just never gotten around to but really want to go to at some point.

There's just nobody in the main series that I really care about anymore. I used to watch it because I enjoyed watching Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards (and others like Mark Martin, etc...). Right now, with the convoluted points system and nobody that I really care enough about to cheer for, I don't watch.
