let the devers era begin:suds:

According to ESPN Red Sox reporter Scott Lauber, 3B prospect Rafael Devers will be promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket "literally any day now."

Boston's top prospect has been tearing it up in Double-A. Among Eastern League hitters, the 20-year-old Dominican Republic native ranks fourth in home runs (18), fifth in RBI (56) and third in slugging percentage (.575). With the Red Sox in dire straits at third base, fantasy owners would be wise to monitor Devers' progress. He's No. 12 in MLB.com's Top 100 Prospects.

BA had Devers ranked #6. No need to rush him though and I'm actually somewhat impressed with how Lin's looked (SSS). I don't think he's a longterm 3B at all, but if he can hit enough I think he'll be a good utility player.

Nope. And while he hasn't been striking out like Moncada was, but I just don't think he's nearly as MLB-ready as Benintendi was. Andrew already had played 126 games in college when the Sox drafted him.

Still very excited about Devers.

I happened to watch Lin his first couple games in Arlington. He swung the bat real well. Nice easy swing, and a good approach. I agree you don't want him to be your every day option, but he's an upgrade from what's been there.

As mentioned. You can have Todd Frazier for any kind of a decent prospect. He's pacing for 30+ HR's, and has a swing made for Fenway.

I think it's really a perfect fit. They don't need a long term 3rd base plan from out of the system as they have Devers. The only problem is, they have 2 prospects at the top that they won't be willing to deal (I think) for a rental. And those are the only 2 in the top 100. I just think the Yankees (who need 3rd base help) have more in terms of mid-level prospects they'd be willing to part with for a rental.

Yeah, I kind of figured that a deal for Frazier would be tough, considering what was given up for Sale.

The Quintana trade just has me pumped up, and wanting to sell everything we can. We have something like 10 of the top 100 prospects now, and 5 of the top 30. Still have Robertson and Frazier to deal. Possibly Melky too. You have to wonder if they'll field calls for Abreu, but something tells me they want to keep him around as the face of the franchise.
