I am a big fan of Alexa Bliss as a heel. She has the conceited, spoiled, entitled bitch attitude down well!

At the same time, I agree with the promos Carmella has cut since MITB. She is showing that, if given a chance, she can get under the crowd's skin and make them want to choke her!

Which is exactly what you want from a heel you are trying to push.

I would not put Carmella up with Alexa just yet. But I think, if they keep letting her shine, she can be there.

The rap battle: Carrying Roman's bags. That line was good!

Yeah, but they'll probably just give it right back at the PPV.
It's possible but why wouldn't they have saved it for a TV match?
Feels random and weird but must have been great for the people in attendance.

I'm glad they did it. The house shows need to get away from the predictability and shake it up.

I do like the surprise element but with 5 hours of TV to fill a week I'd expect them to save that for a ratings boost.
Kind of strange but hopefully Meltzer has an explanation this week.

They've been struggling with house show attendance, so obviously the goal is to create some buzz that 'anything can happen at a house show' and hopefully draw more there.

People are still going to watch Raw/SD and attend those events, but in some of these house shows, they're struggling to get 3,000 people to show up.

I can't see a one off title win being a game changer for house show attendance. Maybe if they do it a handful of times in the next year or so but with the lowest ratings in 20 years wouldn't it be better to save that for an occasional TV match?
Last Tuesday they built SD around AJ becoming the #1 contender for the next PPV and now he's champ
I find the booking kind of curious but I'm sure wether it's to boost house show attendance or something else theres a good reason
for it.

Titles change enough on Raw/SD, so I'm fine with them spreading it around a bit to change on house shows on occasion....since the start of last year, titles have changed hands 17x on either Raw or SD..

I wouldn't be surprised if they start incorporating more surprises on house shows, but it doesn't need to be title changes all the time - heel turns, surprise returns, etc.

17 suprises me, but I know they were hot potatoing the woman's belt with the angle of Sasha winning on Raw and Charolette at the PPVs.

Other than Owens winning the Universal belt because on Raw because of Balor's injury I wouldn't say they have had anything else on TV as big as AJ's first US title win. Tag titles and stuff like that is one thing but this could have .main evented a PPV. It's the two wrestlers that he the world championships for most of last year.

It would be tough to do here turns on house shows for the sake of the audience storyline continuity

I stopped watching Talking Smack when it got bumped for 205 Live. I can't stay up close to midnight on a work night every week for wrestling . It functioned as a post-game show so I wasn't going to watch it the next day. They should have had 205 Live on before SD and kept TS on after it.

Smackdown into Talking Smack for the first 6 months after the initial draft was probably my favorite run of WWE weekly programming since the Attitude Era. Now it's the Jinder experiment, the xenophobic angles, the lack of great promo guys... The shows gone down hill and has been surpassed by Raw creatively. The only saving grace is the Usos and Fashion Police.

Makes sense to bring back one of your worst champs ever at one of the worst ppvs ever.
