Brate - legit breakout, but his TB just drafted one of those TEs that we expect to make an immediate impact

Yeah it's a concern, but not ready to give up on Brate yet by any means. Also got Hopper, who showed some promise as a rookie and now has the starting position and I drafted Hodges who could be a good pass catching TE. I actually like a bunch of the tight ends in this draft, but only time will tell which ones will work out, or if any of them will ( doubt that's the case, figure two or three will be good at least). Looking at rosters, I see those with need at TE have drafted a prospect at TE for the most part.

I was looking hard at Hodges when I took Leggett. I would have preferred Hodges, but having Randolph I didn't want both my TEs on the same team.

That was more of a point against Treff's point about than a stab at Brate. Just saying that there are some uncertainties for a player drafted to be in the starting lineup this year (OJ H) AND a player that broke out last year, kind of knocking out 2 birds 1 stone there out of the TE pool.

Also, Gary Barnidge was once a project TE, just took him 10 years to breakout!
We still play fantasy football, not the real thing here, can't wait on projects at a position like TE, need guys that are part of the game plan to get you at least 8-10pts, ideally.

To think that more than 3 viable TEs would come from the same draft I think is very wishful thinking as well.
Especially since some fantasy pundits are already concerned Howard might be a great TE, but not a great fantasy TE. Not that long ago this was a position that only had 6-8 useful options in the whole league. The pool might be deeper now, but I still think there are only so many that are weekly starting options.

Speaking for my self, think I'd try the waiver wire before trying to trade for a good TE. Seems like those that stock pile high tier TEs place a lot more value on them then I do, making it unpalatable to do a trade.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

:noidea:

I'm happy and feel like I got a steal with Engram who I felt was a first round talent. It wouldn't make a ton of sense trading for a TE after drafting one so highly. Even though they can be slow to produce. All is not lost with the Steelers situation either with J James on my roster.

Now the real question is why no one has traded for the GOAT yet??? :2cents:

I would but I already have Brees and having both of them seems like overkill.

We took Engram in D1 and are very happy about it. he should be a nice replacement for Delanie Walker as he gets older.
And who is "the goat"?

@ehb5 , couple offers your way

Interesting offers but I don't really trust that guy. Tried to come up with a counter but everything I thought of included montgomery and I figured that took things out of my price range. Lemme know if you think of anything though.

Looks like trades are going to hard to find, until the NFL season gets underway.
