I'm going to guess that they had some inkling about Green's health status dating back to last year. Maybe they would have taken Njoku, and come back for an edge player at 62. We'll never really know that answer.

Looking at how the draft played out...if they did have intentions with Njoku at 30, there was not really a worthy TE to take at 62. Juju doesn't really seem to represent insurance for a Bryant slip (imo Hunter does) so they had to be looking at a middle of the field presence and this kid fits it. If Rogers could be somewhat of a factor as an UDFA, I'd like to think Juju can be as a 2nd rd pick. We'll have to see how it works out.

That said, I'm all in on Barndige. No, he's not Green from a dynamic stand point, but I'm not sure if he needs to be...I think he's better than Grimble and James
It's entirely possible that JuJu can be a factor. I just don't like relying on that with his separation issues and lack of experience lining up anywhere other than right wide. Ben can make people look good though. Who knows really. I still really like the Tyler Boyd comparison and Boyd was a factor as a rookie.

With AB, Bryant, and Bell drawing a lot of attention from the DEF, whomever the slot is should get some opportunities to make plays vs a CB3 or maybe a SS or LB sometimes inside the hash marks. If he were going up against a CB1 or 2, maybe I would be, but I'm not too concerned about separation issues.

I'd want more TDs but if they get Tyler Boyd production this year, I'd take it....I think he can be a 4-6 TD guy his 1st yr on this team.

I would be thrilled with Boyd-like rookie production, especially if there are no injuries that force him into more action than planned.

There you go...imo the beauty of his potential lies in the fact that with those bigger guns, he doesn't have to be a primary threat. He might not be a quick player, but he's as fast as Green and could surprise some people.

chrisboswell9 - Thank you Greg. Thank you for taking me under your wing and showing me how to be a Steeler on and off the field. You spoiled many specialists in your 12 years with perfect snaps and I'm just grateful that I was able to be a part of your career for the last 2 years.

jtberry37 - Tough day for Steeler nation with the GOAT having to call it day. Thankful I got the chance to have him guide the way through my first couple of years in the league!

If it's head injuries then the man is already insane if he keeps playing. Injuries sometimes end careers. it happens. Take your payday and walk away while you can still walk.
