I feel like the lottery is rigged for the Lakers. How convenient is it that three straight years they needed their pick to be in the top few or they lose it completely and every time they manage to sneak in, and usually even move up in the order?? And this time they also would've lost their 2019 1st-rounder had they lost this one as well. If it was a random small-market team I wouldn't think anything of it, but since it's one of the Lakers or LeBron's teams it certainly raises attention to me.

well....

Russell and Ingram really havent lived up to the "next star of the Lakers" status- so they got a 3rd try with Ball.....

we shall see how it works out.

Ill tell ya though--- id rather have Jaylen Brown than Ingram. Id rather have Porzingis than Russell.

Ingram at least still has potential- but i just havent liked what i have seen from Russell thus far...he seems like a homeless mans James Harden.

Yeah...

If only the Lakers had the chance to draft Anthony Bennett....

I highly doubt the lottery was rigged. However, this is yet another reason why the league needs to do away with it.

Boston and LA going 1-2 is clearly the best possible result for the league. It gives the Lakers a chance to draft a franchise star and allows Boston to close the gap between them, Cleveland and GS. Two vital markets getting stronger.

Any time the lotto winner is a convenient choice for the league, people will bring up the conspiracy talk. Just like New Orleans when they got Davis and Cleveland when they got LeBron (maybe Kyrie too?). It is basically the same as when the guy who runs your fantasy league comes up with the first pick. Even if you trust him, you still look at him a bit funny.

There's too little to gain and too much to lose for the league to engage in such intrigue.
Management would have to be insane to take such a risk.

NBA is a joke. The draft lottery is also a joke. It's obvious before the season started it was going to be Cavs and Warriors in finals. You look at the teams that get the high picks. Cavs, lakers, celts, spurs all move up siluspiciously whenever they have a pick in the lotto

That isn't true as a rule. The Lakers did win with low odds once, but so have other small media market teams.
The Spurs haven't had a top pick since Tim Duncan.

It's only a joke because your sad little team tanked hard after the all star break and got shit in return.

I think you're forgetting how the Lakers got fucked, when David Stern Only 45 minutes after the teams reached an agreement, Stern called the Hornets and vetoed the deal that would of sent CP3 to the Lakers. All because cry baby Dan Gilbert referred to the trade as a “travesty” in a letter to Stern and others in the league.

But it's ok for him now to have a big 3. Lefraud, Irving, Love, What a joke. :L

I forget the odds for the last couple years but its not really sneaking in at 46%. Its pretty good fucking odds actually.

I believe it is and should be rigged for the Celtics and Lakers. I absolutely feel this is acceptable and warranted:thumb:

Lakers may have succeeded in keeping their picks, but they weren't on the outside looking in going into the lottery in any of the last 3. They were already projected to keep their picks before the ping pong balls were picked. The odds were in their favor. Sure, they were able to move up a bit as well, but that didn't affect whether or not they kept those picks. A lot of losing did that.

As much as I hate the Celtics, they were owed one for losing out on Tim Duncan IMO. Not that it played into this at all, but the fans were due.

Holy crap. Stop it!

If you are going to bring this up again, you need to at least get your reasoning right. Do you honestly believe that Gilbert's crying is what got this deal vetoed? Really?

I think this year the Lakers got lucky because they had to rig it against Mark Cuban
