Best Comedy Series of the 1970s

Those were both on my short list, but I couldn't go against MASH

When i was a kid I woulda' picked Mash, but WKRP and Barney Miller I kinda' grew into.

Agreed, I don't think any decade can top the 70s' for 1/2 hour sitcoms.

I think the first 3 years of Mash were amazingly good, when Henry and Trapper left the show went downhill in a hurry, I liked Potter but he wasn't nearly as good as Henry. B.J was horrible IMO. (Never thought i'd think or write or say those words in my life) I did like Charles...

MASH, but All In The Family was a close second.
I'd forgotten how some of those series changed TV and to some extent the country.

Carol Burnett wasn't a 30 minute sitcom. Carol Burnett is the funniest show that's ever been on television.

I still liked it after Henry and Trapper left but no way was it as good. It got preachy the last few years because Alda was in charge...

Obviously I disagree being I think it's the funniest show of all time and didn't put it on the list, you'll notice all the shows listed are 30 minute sitcoms, there are no hour long sketch comedy variety shows on the list.
