DJ, the NBA is a rough and tough sport and has been for years. The old "bad boys" of the Pistons were rough and touch, Kevin McHale of the Celtics was rough and tough. There is/was no proof that he took out Leonard on purpose.

BS. You arent supposed to be in the landing area of the shooter. It's a rule.

You're off base on this one, Old Timer. This was discussed heavily yesterday.

I disagree, I think to an extent he's a dirty player. Real being real. But that being said after watching the play a bunch of times, I don't believe what he did yesterday was dirty. It was an unfortunate play, but it happens all the time.
You're entitled to your opinion about him being a dirty player, but I don't believe THAT incident in particular was a dirty play.

Correct, which is why it's called a common foul. The defender isn't allowed to make contact with the offensive player. We get that, although it shouldn't be allowed the other way around either.

Having said that, sometimes a player can't stop on a dime which was the case yesterday. Just because it's an illegal play doesn't mean it was meant to intentionally hurt him. We see guys grab, hold, push & get into Curry's landing space almost every time he goes up for a shot. Should we say that each of those fouls are an intent to hurt him purposely?

I agree, it's just the Spur fans crying a river.
Agreed. Its the same bad luck that befell the Warriors last year when Curry slipped on the floor and injured his leg during the playoffs. Stuff happens.

Again, all of this is your opinion, which I will add is not a good one. As I said before, if you actually WATCHED games you would understand that Utah was a good DEFENSIVE team. They were ranked 3rd out of 30.

Having said that, you providing the definition of mediocre only makes you look even more ignorant in terms of this topic since clearly ranking 3 OUT OF 30 is NOT average or middle-of-the-road.

I think your ability to comprehend what's happening in front of you is
me·di·o·cre-ˌmēdēˈōkər/ordinary, average, middling, middle-of-the-road. SMH
I'd like to come work for you if failing more than I succeed (40 and 42) is satisfactory, or above average performance. Who gives a fuck if they were a good defensive team, they weren't good enough to win even half their games. That's all that matters. There is a lot more to the game than just defensive stats.

When a player has a history of being dirty like Zaza I think the answer is simple. I do realize we won't agree on this, that's why I didn't pursue it yesterday and won't today. Out of respect for you. I wasn't aware you were here.

You don't have to be looking at the landing area to know if you take those extra steps towards the guy taking a jump shot, you're gonna be in his landing area and possibly hurt him.
He didn't take any extra steps. He simply gathered himself to begin running back down the floor.

Hahahaha OMG. This really isn't that difficult. But ok, if you think defense isn't that important there isn't anything I can do to help you.

You don't know that for sure. Injuries are part of the game. Don't be making any excuses.
I know for sure that the Warriors would not have overcome a 23 point deficit in the middle of the third quarter if Leonard had been healthy. Injuries are a part of the game, we agree on that though.

I know this is a long time ago, but in 1980 with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar home in Los Angeles resting a sprained ankle suffered the game before, rookie Magic Johnson jumped center, played every position and piled up 42 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists in a 123-107 victory that clinched the championship. The point is, players suffer from sprained ankles every season.

You do realize he leads his team in MPG, Scoring, Assists, Rebounding (might be 2nd to TT), and overall defensive efficiency? I don't know how that's not carrying the load.

Irving is there bailing them out of trouble under pressure MANY times throughout the season. Far more than Lebron overall. When I mean doesn't have to carry the load, Im mean like "Rusell Westbrook" carrying the load. Lebron has plenty of offensive help around him.

And ROFLMAO @ Lebron's LAZY overrated defense. I can't count how many times Ive seen his lazy ass on defense lose sight of his man, then ream his teammates about a "defensive breakdown"

They could be number one in defense for all I care but if their record is 40 and 42 they are still a mediocre team. That cannot be argued. Its the winning and losing record that counts not the defensive stats. Or, wait a minute, did Cleveland win the championship last year by being the top rated defensive team or did they win by winning more games in the series than GS did. I can't remember.

I will describe Pachulia like Cavs fans described Delly: He's not intentionally dirty, he's just a scrappy guy & goes after it full force. He's willing to sacrifice his body for the team.

they DID sing that tune, didn't they...?

As a Warriors fan and thus a Laker hater, I remember every agonizing minute of watching that game. But we already agree that injuries are a part of the game, I don't dispute that. What we don't seem to agree on is that the Warriors would out-score the Spurs by 25 points in 17 minutes with a healthy Leonard on board.

We can have a difference of opinion - that's normal.

But, the problem I have is just because he has a history means there can never be coincidence? That's where I think the problem is. A lot of people are not looking at the play objectively without tainting their judgment with their opinions of whether or not he's a dirty player.

Now, I can see if on film he's seen watching Kawhi jump into the air then calculates where he should put his foot in order to ensure Kawhi comes down on it. Or, if he did something out of the ordinary that caused Kawhi to come down awkward. We're talking about a play that happens to just about every jump shooter one time or another. In most cases when a person jumps into the air & shoots a fade away shot they're not going to land in the same spot they jumped from. So IMO it would've been pretty hard for Pachulia to dictate- for the purpose of intentionally hurting Kawhi- to know where he would land.

How do you know that when they just did that very thing in March??
