The more I hear about this kid, the more excited I get about watching him play this season. Depending on how his defense goes, he could really be something special. His offense is going to be such a blessing for us as a big. He should spread the court for us like we haven't seen, that I can remember. He is 6'11" stretch 4, and makes 2 3pts per game at 40%. He just led both divisions of FIBA Euro U20 in ppg (24.9) and player efficiency, and had 8.6 rpg. It's great to see him do well competing over the summer.

I'm stoked about our back court, but Markkanen could give us the balanced threat to really disrupt some defenses. Word is that his defense is just above average, and he is focused on it as a priority. I think it'll be fun watching him this season. I'm hoping that he'll do well and stay at least another year to keep working on his game. I have a feeling we'll be talking about this kid for a while.
