According Rosenthal who was on the score. He reminds me a lot of Adam Dunn with speed

i sure hope he comes cheap. hate to see the sox slide back into that 'let's-get-some-guy-past-his-prime' for 40 or 50 million and we get MAYBE 1 decent season out of 3 for him. at 33 he'll be slowing down soon but he has been a decent fielder. i hope he's fully recovered from his broken bones and has a few good years left in his bat cause that is the ONLY saving grace he would have.

I don't get the point of signing a guy like that with 2014 looking like a total rebuilding season. We're supposed to be taking money off the books, not signing aging veterans who will cost more than they are worth.

No thanks ... there's a real reason the Tigers dumped him and now the Yankmees are tossing him aside? I say stick with youth and rebuild the farm system. I dont want another has been that's probably asking too much $$$ for what he's worth.

:agree:

+1000

I thought they'd finally got the memo that they needed to use 2014 as a year to keep developing youth, so that when Dunn is off the books in 2015 they only have 1 bad contract left. THEN you make a move with FAs to complement the core you've hopefully developed.

This wouldn't make sense for the White Sox - they got a lot of issues on that team and signing Curtis Granderson isn't going to make them any better

The IP should have made it clear in this thread title that he was talking about the ChiSox, not my Red Sox.

The Red Sox have too much outfield speed and depth to be interested in past-their-prime types.

Then again I should have noticed which forum this was on!

Don't often do dumb things, but have to admit I did here. :gaah:

TOTALLY disagree!

the white sox have always (since before the red sox existed) been referred to as 'the sox'. the red sox should never be referred to as the sox. they are 'the red sox". not to mention this is sox thread in a sox forum. your confusion is really ridiculous.

kindly try not to tell us what's what about our own sox.

edit: didn't read your next post before typing this. the rest still applies!

If you are talking about the homeruns in comparison to Adam Dunn the short porch in Yankee Stadium helped A LOT.

Granderson isn't bad but he is getting up there in age. He might have speed and he might be able to hit for power. But also there is an injury risk there, so you have to ask yourself does the good outweigh the bad?

In Chicago and the Midwest things are a bit different than in New England.

I live in NEW ENGLAND, and here "Sox" means the red variety. Always has.

i havent heard much on it lately but rosenthal said it would be a short term contract with a discount. granderson was looking to comeback home.
