I find it interesting that none of the 2023 B1G teams are in the top 25 rushing the football. Maybe its not this tough rushing teams as its being made out to be. of USC opponents LSU, ND and UCLA are the only teams in the top 25 rushing yards. Michigan at 51 is surprising.

Cool troll thread.

Yes Michigan clearly won the national championship with all of their downfield passes and finesse. Definitely not their smashmouth defense and run game.

How'd USC do?

But, but, but.. what happened to "Halfback U"? USC is 93rd in rushing (133.6 Yds/Gm)!

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!
I.e., You shouldn't bring up stats for other teams when your team's stats are even worse!

Michigan's running game was weird. It was effective and kept the chains moving, but it wasn't nearly as explosive as it had been the prior two seasons . I think part of that was facing better defenses and keying in on stopping our running game. Michigan had five opponents who gave up 3.5 YPC or less (PSU, Nebraska, Maryland, Iowa, OSU). Bama just missed that cutoff at 3.7. 7 of their opponents were in the top 20 in SP+ defense, though I do think the mediocre B10W offenses skew those numbers a bit. Donovan Edwards was also struggling for a good chunk of the season, felt like he was just struggling to find his holes. He looked more like 2022 Edwards later in the season, especially with those two long runs against Washington.
