Caught a few more dinks and one nice one this past weekend. He was hiding out under a tree on an outside bend. Way up against the bank. I mean tight to that bank. Looked about 15-17" but I can't be certain. Used the "pro-move quick release" where I let him unhook himself, bounce off my boat and flop into the water. Still counts right? Used a Berkley Choppo again. Loving the Choppo for river smallies.
No worries in PA where we only grow dinks haha.Sweet...but I'll just stay on my big ol' boat, thanks.

No, seriously...is it may?UUUUGGGGHHH!!!!!!!
Is it May yet?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
Renewed my license just now, this reminded me and then I got excited for fishing. No, seriously...is it may?
March is basically where I get pissed that it's not warm yet, hope that the lakes unfreeze and can't wait to golf and fish again.
Good news is that Michigan just changed it's licensing system and instead of having to wait until like march 30th, you can buy them march 1st now. So that's one step closer!
Also, I've discovered that having any kind of boat ends up just being a money pit. Not in a bad way but because you get so obsessed you just want to spend more money improving. I've already planned like 3 upgrades to mine. Haven't even considered a second yet lol.
though, given we never got a full on freeze this year in Michigan (at least SE Michigan) and we're expecting 40-50 degree weather in the 10 day forecast, things may open up really early this year.
Bust Out Another Thousand. Apparently true for small boats too haha. I sink so much money into these things it's insane. I just bought two YakAttack Omega Pro Rod Holders. $80. Just to hold my rods lol.No, seriously...is it may?

If you get 4 how on earth are you transporting those lol?Bust Out Another Thousand. Apparently true for small boats too haha. I sink so much money into these things it's insane. I just bought two YakAttack Omega Pro Rod Holders. $80. Just to hold my rods lol.
I still need to buy my license yet. PA just passed a groundbreaking law this year too. We no longer have to pin the license to an outer garment! Hooray for progress.
BTW. I only bought one of the SS127. I'm capable of self-control. Who would thunk it?
I might be transporting five lol.If you get 4 how on earth are you transporting those lol?
I can't believe PA required you to pin the dang thing to your clothes. That's crazy as hell.
What are you looking for in a fishing kayak? <$600 is a tall order.Im getting a fishing Kayak this spring. Not gonna spend more than $600. It will be freshwater only.
I'm still trying to decide if hypothermia is real or just something people lie about to ruin pre-spawn kayak fishing. The general rule is 120. The air and water temperature need to add up to 120 or it's a no go without like a thousand dollar space suit.Don't look now but we have 9 days of 50-ish+ weather here in SE Michigan in the 15 day forecast. Given the lakes were open in Feb because of warm weather, they didn't have the large ice buildup that they have most years. I wouldn't be shocked if our waters were open and fishable here in the next couple weeks if the weather holds as predicted. I might be able to take the boat out early this year.
Yeah, I'm a novice here. I haven't done much pricing yet. And I'm bone-on-bone in my right knee so im not even sure if i can get in and out of one at tolerable pain levels. What are you looking for in a fishing kayak? <$600 is a tall order.
Bone on bone right knee... sounds like a pedal drive is out of the question. Well, it's out of the question at anything under $1200 anyway.Yeah, I'm a novice here. I haven't done much pricing yet.
